About

Hotel Condado

Hotel Condado is a 3-star, family-owned property on Aribau, a quiet street in Barcelona's Eixample district. The 75 rooms are spread over several floors, with a choice of city or courtyard views, and the hotel runs a 24-hour reception, luggage storage, and a business corner for those mixing work with sightseeing.

Guests consistently single out the service: check-in is smooth even after a long flight, housekeeping keeps rooms spotless, and the front desk is praised for its warmth. The location is practical rather than touristy — a short walk to Diagonal metro, with buses nearby, and an easy stroll to the Gothic Quarter for those who like to explore on foot.

In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

3 reasons to book
  • Service that stands out — Guests repeatedly mention the reception team's warmth and efficiency, including early check-in for tired arrivals and helpful advice. The staff rating of 9.0 backs this up.
  • Quiet, updated rooms — Several reviewers note that rooms have been renovated, with soundproofing that keeps street noise out and bathrooms that look good. The rooms rating of 9.0 reflects this.
  • Practical central location — Set on Aribau, a short walk from Diagonal metro and a manageable stroll to the Gothic Quarter, it's convenient for both business and sightseeing without the tourist crush.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Rooms can feel snug — A guest described the double room as not very spacious, with the bed taking up most of the floor. Fine for a short stay, but don't expect to spread out.
  • Some rooms face an inner courtyard — These come with windows onto a light well, meaning less natural light and a view of the opposite building. If you want a balcony and daylight, book a street-facing or terrace room.
  • Breakfast is not a highlight — The dining rating sits at 8.6, and some guests didn't manage to try it. The restaurant exists, but it's not the reason to book.

“The room I had was updated and silent.”

“The hotel is good. Thanks to Reception for checking in on us earlier, cause we were so tired after a long flight. The room looks good. There were 2 beds, bedside tables, TV, table, wardrobe, safe box, bathroom. We really liked housekeeping work, they came to clean room everyday and bring shower facilities regularly. The hotel is good. We even got checked in early because we are very tired from the road, thank you so much for that! The room itself looks very dignified. Room 2 has beds slid together, bedside tables, desk, TV, wardrobe, safe and bathroom. I liked the work of the maids, cleaning was carried out daily, shower products were brought regularly.”

“Nice hotel. It's practically downtown, that's what I needed. Actually, I chose something average, so that it was both affordable and convenient and comfortable in terms of location. I am not particularly demanding on the quality of the hotels. main thing is to have a place to sleep, to wash and bathe, I do not consider hostels and similar types of accommodation. I choose the middle one. So, to base your choice only on my feedback and assessment is not worth it, as each has its own requirements for comfort and quality. room is not very spacious, almost the entire room has a double bed. There is a small table on which you do not particularly swing, chair, wardrobe, bedside table with lamp. From the room we go straight to the bathroom (there is no door between the room and bathroom), from it - already to the toilet, where there is only a toilet, to the shower, these two rooms are separated by glass doors. In principle, everything is convenient. view from the window, of course, no, stupidly in the 'well', opposite the window of another room, to look out of the window once. It's a bit dark in the room. It was cleaned every day.”

“The hotel is normal. Nothing unexpected. But there's not much to praise... It's ten minutes' walk from Diagonal Metro. It's better to use buses or taxis in the heat and with things... I didn't get a chance to try breakfast. TV, too... The water pressure in the first floor shower was very good... The window came out 'in the yard' and opened. Sometimes you could hear the water flowing in the pipes, but you can not use the air conditioning.”

“Guest room is updated, has a nice looking bathroom.”

04 — Location

Getting around Barcelona

The property sits in Barcelona.

Eixample: The hotel sits in the heart of the Eixample district, known for its grid of wide boulevards and Modernist architecture. Guests enjoy wandering this area for its local spirit — a quieter counterpoint to the Old Town.

Getting around: Diagonal metro is about a 10-minute walk, and bus stops are one or two blocks away, offering direct routes to the city's main sights. In the heat, buses or taxis are often preferable to walking with luggage.

Old Town & sights: The Gothic Quarter and the port are within easy walking distance for the energetic, while La Boqueria market is roughly a 10-minute ride. Shops and cafés are nearby, though not as dense as in the very centre.
